The province level celebration of the Twin Jubilee of the Servant of God Raymond Francis Camillus Mascarenhas, the Founder of the Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany was held at Jharna, Ranchi, on 21 February 2025. The event brought together around 40 sisters from 19 communities across the Province, Along with Sr Jessy Maria, the Provincial Superior, Sr Violet, the Procurator General, and the other Sisters of the Province were present to witness the occasion.

Fr John Crasta a prominent professor from St Albert’s Seminary, Ranchi presided over the Eucharistic celebration, The Mass began with an introduction by Sr Anita Moras, the Assistant Provincial Superior of Eastern Province, who highlighted the life and mission of the Servant of God. She referred to his legacy as we commemorated his 150th birth anniversary and 125th ordination anniversary. Born on 13 January 1875, at Shimoga, Karnataka, and ordained on 4 March 1900, Mgr Raymond is remembered for his prayer spirit, love for the Blessed Mother, and his selfless service to the poor. In 1921, he founded the Congregation of the Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany to address the educational needs of the poor, particularly girls; despite challenges, he remained committed to his mission. The relevance of his charism is realized in the Eastern Province as we reach out to the people through pastoral, educational and socio-medical activities.

The Intercessory prayers for the Mass were led by Sr Sabita Mary. The meaningful homily delivered by Rev Fr John Crasta, connected day's Scripture readings to the life and greatness of the Servant of God.

After the solemn Eucharist, the Sisters carved a jubilee cake in honour of the revered Founder. Sr Jessy Maria, the Provincial Superior, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the significance of this Twin Jubilee Celebration. She spoke with warmth and conviction about the enduring impact of Mgr Raymond’s vision and mission. To close the event, the Sisters joyfully sang a meaningful song dedicated to the Founder, honouring his great contribution.

This memorable celebration not only recalled the milestones of Mgr Raymond's life but also renewed the commitment of the Sisters of Eastern Province to continue his legacy by serving the poorest of the poor.
