A biography in Kannada on Mgr Raymond Mascarenhas, the Founder of Bethany Congregation , titled “ Hombelaku”, authored by Professor Stephan Quadras was released by Sr Wilberta, the President of Bethany Educational Society on June 15,2012 at Bethany Hall, Bendur on the occasion of a two days’ teachers’ conference of Bethany Schools facilitated by Sr David Delaney. The book unravels the contribution of Mgr Raymond in the field of education, for the advancement of konkany literature and his Gandhian vision of self-reliance of the poor through self employment as well as his true Christian Spirit of reaching out to all categories of people in service.

Sr Wilberta, the President of the function in her speech congratulated Professor Stephen Quadras for spotlighting the educational endeavors of this great luminary of Mangalore. She exhorted the teachers to imbibe the ideals of this great visionary in building a new society and to exemplify the core values of the Educational Society emerging from the vision of its Founder Mgr Raymond Mascarenhas.

Sr Lillis, the Vice President of Bethany Educational Society honoured the author.

Sr Mariette, the Provincial Superior felicitated the author for presenting the student community a model for emulation . Sr Rose Celine, the Secretary of the Society welcomed the gathering. Sr Assumpta, member of the Council of Management introduced the author and the book .

Mr Stephen Quadras profusely appreciated Bethany Sisters and Bethany Educational Society for the vital contribution they make for the transformation of the society.
