Indeed a great day had dawned in the history of Udayvar Church when the ‘father of the poor’ was rightly remembered on 21st November 2010. An Eucharistic celebration was solemnized by Fr Charles Norohna, the Parish Priest along with Fr William Martis the Assistant and Fr Prakash on the occasion of the 50th death anniversary of Mgr Raymond F C Mascarenhas, the Servant of God on the Feast of Christ the King.
Rev. Fr William in his homily said that Mgr Raymond was a Messenger of God who understood and lived the kingdom values. He loved the people of Udayvar, understood their situation and worked selflessly for their spiritual, social and material welfare. The church that stands majestic even today is built by the Founder which is a proof of his hard labour. He very well understood the Kingship of Jesus and lived it in his own life.
