21st December 2011 was the most unfortunate day of our life, when my daughter got sick to the extent that her life was threatened with severe chest infection, with one of her lungs totally blocked. She was placed on ventilator for one week. During that phase, her condition was so critical with her vitals showing ups and downs that every second was very crucial. It was that very moment, when we were all totally crashed, with only a ray of hope from Almighty God. The doctors were doing their job but what we needed besides that was prayer to God to save this child, which we were not able to perform with our eyes full of tears and minds totally lost and were finding ourselves in very helpless situation. That was the time when on my request one of my acquaintances requested a Sister to kindly pray for this girl. When Mrs Meera Malhotra rang up to Sr Grace Maria on 23rd December, the sisters were celebrating the Death Anniversary of Father Mascarenhas at Ish Kripa, the headquarters of Bethany‘s Northern Province. They immediately started praying to him and informed Bethany at Mangalore, and they too prayed for the life of my daughter. With the continuous effort from the Sisters of St Theresa’s Convent School, Karnal and their centres at different parts of the country, the magic of prayer brought fruit. On 28th December her ventilator was removed. The struggle for her survival continued for another month before she was discharged from hospital on 1st February 2012.
With the blessings of Almighty God and continuous support of the Sisters for the welfare of my daughter, she is now back to her normal life.
