Dear Sisters of Bethany,
I am extremely grateful and happy to inform you that I one of the living beneficiary of the miracle worked by God through the holy hands of Mgr. Raymond Mascarenhas. My two elder twin sisters Felcy (Sr. Immaculate B.S. – Barnala – Punjab.) Cecilia (Sr. Marylette B.S. Kinnigoly) who are serving in your Congregation are the living witnesses of that miracle.
Here am I to narrate this fact in order to show my gratitude to God and Mgr. Raymond Mascarenhas. My mother, my two elder brothers and my twin sisters, had told me about this incident. I am one of the twins. My twin brother Richard was healthy and active by birth. Till the age of about 2½, I was very sick. Due to my big belly, like a frog, I was lying on my back. I could not crawl or move. My sisters would try to turn me and put me on my stomach but I would scream and cry. They would see me crying and worry about my future. My mother was a regular visitor to Bethany to meet Sr. Dolorosa B.S. and Sr. Dulceline B.S. who were my father’s sisters. Sr. Dulceline B.S. casually narrated that due to my inability to moving, my mother would never take me anywhere, except to the doctor for medicine. She had taken me to several doctors, but of no cure. Mgr. R. Mascarenhas told Sr. Dulceline B.S. that he wanted to see me, so he asked her to bring me to Bethany during her next visit.
My mother took me to Mgr. Raymond Mascarenhas who laid his hands and prayed over me and told my mother that very soon I would be cured and be a normal person. No sooner my mother reached home and put me on the mat, I showed some signs of cure. I tried to turn my side, and tried to crawl and move a little. I praise and thank God for it. Immediately my mother took me back to Mgr. Raymond Mascarenhas with joy and gratitude. My family thanked God for working a Miracle through Mgr. R. Mascarenhas.
I feel that Mgr. Raymond Mascarenhas’ blessing helped me not only with a cure but it helped me to ascend the Altar of God by being a priest.
I am very grateful to Mgr. Raymond Mascarenhas and to God. I pray that God may bless him and raise him to the honours of the altar.
